During my time as a merchandise copywriter at ModCloth, I had a blast writing over a thousand product names and their corresponding descriptions. I was able to experience the products first-hand, given a lot of creative freedom, and worked with both story-telling and SEO-based approaches.
I often reached for pop-culture references, I tried to keep my pun game strong, and much to my joy, my boss would hand me the sci-fi, fantasy, and comic book themed items, allowing me to unleash my own personal nerd expertise.
A very special personal achievement that I unlocked during this time was the Nick Cage tee-shirt I wrote (above); there are eleven references to his movies contained in that name and description.
